PROPERTY
The Smart SEAty project represents a transformative urban regeneration initiative for the historic Nicolò Tommaseo Naval College, constructed in the 1930s on a 65,000 sqm estate known as Ex Villa Dionisi, situated along the northern shoreline of Brindisi’s inner port. Having been abandoned since 1977, the building is set to undergo a renovation by the City of Brindisi. In addition, the nearby Tommaso Urban Forest, a revitalized 5-hectare coastal green space, was reopened to the public in 2021. This initiative is part of a broader sustainable redevelopment of the port waterfront, aiming to establish Brindisi’s first multi-functional hub centered around the sea and the blue economy. The project envisions hospitality and event spaces to create a maritime hub that drives local entrepreneurship and helps attract, retain, and bring back talent. The goal is to provide a dynamic platform where ideas can connect with resources, expertise, capital, and infrastructure to efficiently launch new ventures and train the next generation of professionals. The City of Brindisi is open to expressions of interest from operators and economic stakeholders interested in leasing the property to develop activities aligned with the city’s redevelopment strategies.
