The Montesyndial Container Terminal project involves the construction of a modern and efficient integrated logistics infrastructure in the southern industrial area of Porto Marghera, within the Venice port system. The project involves approximately 84 hectares, characterized by a direct and continuous quay front of approximately 1,600 meters along the Canale Industriale Ovest and a large area behind it where storage yards, warehouses for logistics and light processing and an intermodal railway platform can be built. Accessibility to the sea is guaranteed through the Canale Malamocco-Marghera, rail access through the Stazione di Venezia Marghera Scalo, a national freight station included in the port area, and road access with the motorway network that reaches the borders of the port. The total investment for the project amounts to 428 million euros. The first phase, scheduled for completion in 2026, will focus on the retreat and construction of the quay and will include dredging to widen the Canale Industriale Ovest. A second phase will build an intermodal platform with double rail track, enhancing connectivity to the national rail network. The final phase will consist of container storage areas, roadworks and support service systems.
